Quant RSI

Dynamic RSI with trend-adjusted overbought/oversold levels.

RSIQuantitativeDynamic

Every trader has been burned by this: RSI shows overbought in a strong uptrend, you short, and price keeps rallying. The problem isn't RSI — it's the fixed 70/30 levels that ignore market context. Quant RSI solves this by dynamically adjusting its boundaries based on the current trend.

In a strong uptrend, the oversold level shifts from 30 up to 40-45. In a downtrend, overbought shifts from 70 down to 55-60. This means pullback entries actually trigger in trending markets instead of waiting for a level that never comes.

The adjustment is quantitative — based on measured trend strength (ADX), not subjective judgment. When ADX shows a strong trend, the levels shift more. When ADX is flat (ranging market), levels return to standard 70/30. The right tool for the right regime, automatically.

What's Inside

Feature Breakdown

Every component of Quant RSI explained — what it does, why it matters, and how to read it.

Dynamic OB/OS Levels

Overbought and oversold thresholds shift based on trend strength. In strong uptrends, OS moves to 40-45 to catch pullbacks. In downtrends, OB moves to 55-60 to catch rallies to fade.

ADX-Based Adjustment

Level shift driven by ADX (Average Directional Index). When ADX > 25, levels shift proportionally. When ADX < 20, levels return to standard 70/30 for ranging markets.

Trend Direction Awareness

Knows which direction the trend is going. In uptrends, only the oversold level shifts. In downtrends, only the overbought level shifts. Precision adjustment.

Momentum Zones

Color-coded background: green when RSI is in the bullish zone, red when bearish. The midline itself shifts with trend — it's not always 50.

How to Trade It

Trade Setups & Examples

Real trade setups using Quant RSI. Each example shows the setup, entry trigger, and target.

1
Trend Pullback Entry
Setup

ADX shows strong uptrend (ADX > 30). Quant RSI adjusted oversold to 42. Price pulls back and RSI drops to 43.

Entry

Enter long when RSI bounces off the dynamic oversold level. With standard RSI at 43, you'd still be waiting for 30 — which never comes.

Target

Target the previous swing high. Let the trend do the work.

2
Ranging Market Reversal
Setup

ADX below 20 — no trend. Quant RSI levels at standard 70/30. RSI reaches 72 at the range top.

Entry

Enter short at RSI 72 with standard levels. In ranging markets, standard overbought works correctly.

Target

Target the bottom of the range. Standard mean-reversion.

Configuration

Settings Reference

Every setting explained. Defaults work out of the box — adjust only when you understand why.

RSI Period
Default: 14

Standard RSI calculation period. 14 is the classic Wilder setting.

ADX Period
Default: 14

Period for the ADX calculation that drives dynamic adjustment.

Trend Threshold
Default: 25

ADX level above which dynamic adjustment activates. Below this, levels stay at 70/30.

Max Shift
Default: 15

Maximum points the OB/OS levels can shift. At max, OS becomes 45 (30+15) and OB becomes 55 (70-15).

Show Dynamic Zones
Default: On

Displays shifted OB/OS zones as colored bands on the RSI panel.
