Nexural Trend Finder
Dual JMA trend detection with participation that leads the move.
Most trend indicators are reactive — they tell you the trend changed after it already happened. Trend Finder uses two Jurik Moving Averages (fast and slow) with near-zero lag, but the real edge is the participation histogram. It measures buying and selling activity BEFORE the moving average turns, giving you advance notice that the trend is about to shift.
The histogram leads the MA cross by 2-4 bars. When the MAs are still bullish but participation flips negative, smart money is already exiting. When the MAs are still bearish but participation turns positive, accumulation has begun. This lead time is the difference between entering early and chasing.
ATR volatility bands wrap around the JMAs to detect coiling (compression) vs expansion. When bands narrow, a move is building. When they widen, the trend is running. The on-chart regime dashboard combines everything — trend direction, participation strength, activity state, and signal quality — into a single visual status panel.
Feature Breakdown
Every component of Nexural Trend Finder explained — what it does, why it matters, and how to read it.
Dual JMA Engine
Two Jurik Moving Averages — fast (8) and slow (21) — for trend detection with near-zero lag. JMA's adaptive algorithm produces significantly less lag than EMA while maintaining smooth output.
Participation Histogram
The leading indicator within the indicator. Measures buying/selling pressure BEFORE the MA crossover happens. When participation flips while MAs are still in the old trend, you get 2-4 bars of advance notice.
ATR Volatility Bands
Dynamic bands that expand and contract with volatility. Narrow bands = market is coiling for a move. Wide bands = trend is running. The transition from narrow to wide is the breakout signal.
Regime Dashboard
On-chart panel showing four metrics at a glance: trend direction (Bull/Bear/Flat), participation level (Strong/Weak/Diverging), activity state (Active/Quiet/Coiling), and signal quality (A/B/C grade).
Trend Color Coding
Price bars and background auto-color based on trend state. Green = confirmed uptrend, Red = confirmed downtrend, Gray = no trend. Removes ambiguity about the current regime.
Trade Setups & Examples
Real trade setups using Nexural Trend Finder. Each example shows the setup, entry trigger, and target.
JMA trend is up (fast above slow, both rising). Participation histogram is green. Price pulls back to the fast JMA — a standard pullback in an uptrend.
Enter long when price touches the fast JMA AND participation stays positive (not diverging). If participation turns negative during the pullback, skip it — the trend may be failing.
Target the upper ATR band or the next VP level. Trail stop below the slow JMA for runners.
JMAs are still bearish (fast below slow). But the participation histogram flips from red to green — buyers are accumulating before the trend turns.
Don't enter yet — wait for the fast JMA to cross above the slow JMA to confirm. But use the participation flip as your alert to start watching for entries.
Enter on the confirmed cross with standard trend-following targets. The participation lead gave you prep time that other traders don't have.
ATR bands have narrowed significantly — the market is coiling. Regime dashboard shows 'Coiling' activity state. Participation is flat but starting to tick up.
Enter on the first expansion bar — when price breaks outside the compressed bands AND participation confirms direction.
Target 1.5-2x the recent range width. Compression-to-expansion transitions produce outsized moves.
Settings Reference
Every setting explained. Defaults work out of the box — adjust only when you understand why.
Period for the fast Jurik Moving Average. Shorter = more responsive to trend changes. 5-8 for scalping, 8-13 for day trading.
Period for the slow Jurik Moving Average. Defines the trend baseline. 13-21 for day trading, 21-34 for swing.
Period for the ATR volatility bands. Standard 14 works for most timeframes.
Width multiplier for the ATR bands. Wider = fewer false breakouts. Narrower = more signals.
Displays the regime dashboard panel on the chart. Shows trend, participation, activity, and signal grade.
